So you don't understand how to find info on Perl, I don't underdstand how to look up info on PHP, big deal. It *does* database interaction just like any other language. What it does mean is it is limited in it's ability in my opinion and experience. Look at both and use the one that does what you need and that is easiest for you. Me, I've tried both. Development wise and server admin wise. For me Perl does everythgin PHP does plus about a million other thigns, and does them easy and well. PHP doesn't do anything special that justifies, for me at least, bothering to use it.
