A little of both maybe, I gets lots of garbage at my address. The problem is the same with all the lists I subscribe to, they have web archives. Which means evil robots can go and harvest our email addresses. So it's not just this list it's Anytime you have an email address on a website. Even smart robots can figure out address that attempt to conceal them selves. Even lists that remove emial addresses ccompletely can still be spammed quite easily.
