Hi All,
Can some list some points where perl really stands out from other languages.
erm, pick any perl (or python, or ruby, or ...) group and search the archives. This question has been asked in many forms in many places. The only place major differences are CPAN and community. Ruby is syntactically similar, but with a cleaner object model. Python & Java have large libraries, but probably not equal to CPAN. Pick a language, any language. As long as it has the features you need for a particular task, it's perfect for that task. Actually, don't pick one language, pick a dozen.
Randy.
