You're preaching to the choir. Many of us who have lurked or participated on the list already pay attention to our subjects. The problem is more pervasive than just this list. In general, people who don't use good subjects are not regular participants in mailing lists. So the better subject message is only good for those people who have lurked the list a while or who have read the list FAQ. Unfortunately, many beginner perl programmers are beginner programmers and list users as well. We are unlikely to reach them by posting on _this_ list. HTH, Charles K. Problem was, her messages were very detailed and required bottom posting each question. When I sent them back in plain text she called me on the phone. "Why do you send everything back in plain text. That's so rude!" I bit back a laugh and told her about the historical use of bottom posting and how USENET posters established many rules we now use in email a very long time ago. Her reply was typical.
