Here [/root/.cpan] -- you should have just hit enter.

Try deleting the following directories:
/home/satimis/yes
/root/.cpan/yes

Then try this once more (I apologize if this seems long and drawn out
-- I myself installed and tried to use CPAN about 500 times before I
"understood" it -- and sometimes I don't understand it today.)

Note:  Usually the default answer of (hitting) [Enter] (the return
key) is all you need to do.

As root -
cd
perl -MCPAN -e 'shell
cpan> o conf init
