Are they bind zone files? djbdns files? ascii, binary ? What is a "DNS
db file" for you?

What are "certain server names", "certain object class", "certain object
description"

I think you've posted enough here to know by now that there is a need to
be more specific than you are bing here :)

With just the info you provided I'd say open the file and parse it based
on its structure and what you're looking for...
