Hello all, Any of you perl gurus have experience on listening to port? Specifically port 514 owned by syslog. I'd like to parse and dump whatever it received into database. I searched CPAN, got Sys::Syslog, but pls correct me, is it only for reading whatever the syslog already wrote? Net::Dev::Tools::Syslog sounds promising, but don't know how to use it. Anybody have sample script how to use it? Please enlight me!
