There is no good editor other than GNU Emacs. It's hard to learn in the first timer but really worth in the long time. GNU Emacs can be used to do almost everything. Even, it's very good to be used for the almighty Perl programming. I really wonder there is a great editor GNU Emacs but why many people still use other much inferior editors?
