Things to keep in mind before complaining about your network speed:
+ connection ratings are often in kilobits per second and download
speeds are often in kilobytes per second (so an 800kbs connection is
limited to a theoretical 100kBs).
+ your speed is limited not just by the speed of your connection, but
also that of the machine you are connected to (and any machines
between you and it)
+ TCP/IP has a decent amount of overhead that is not normally
displayed in download managers (especially if you are using NAT)
+ it is possible that packets are being lost and retransmitted (you
can use tools like mtr to see what sort of packet loss you are
experiencing and at what point the loss is occuring)
