Thanks a lot. Actually, what I was looking for is how do I contribute a subroutine like stuff to perl. Most of the scripts listed in the link are standalone utilities that achieve something. What I want to conrtibute is something more basic. Lets say someone (just for theory) wanted to contribute a subroutine similar to split function. How would he do it?
