I didn't come up with the watermark idea.  Can't remember where I saw it... I
think it was Perlmonks.

Idea being, if you respond to a homework question with an obfu answer that
clearly is beyond the scope of education so far, and the cheater^Wstudent
copies said answer into the homework, the instructor will know that the
student has cheated.

Brilliant solution to a repeated problem, I say.

And if it's not really homework, the person will likely come back and say "oh,
what does this do?".  At which point, you can hand out the bucket of clues.
