Hi Rob - thanks so much for helping me with this. I will try to answer your questions as best I can, but again, I am very much a rookie with this and don't know what I'm doing (yet!).
My intention is just to use Apache as a server on my PC to create and test code. At some point in the future (after I get comfortable) Iwill most likely post my code with an external hosting company. I just want to play around with connecting to a DB so I can do things like create a March Madness program, etc. What is the easiest way to install DBD with Xampp? It sounds like this is the issue.... When I try to run ppm from a DOS prompt it says the command is not recognized. But if I dont' need that, I won't even worry about it. I was simply trying to follow the exact directions I found on the web.
