This is weird, as you can check in the backend/CMakeList.txt the GBE_DEBUG
macro is defined
for all configurations GCC/CLANG/ICC and
DEBUG/RELWITHDEBUGINFO/MINSIZEREL/RELEASE.
Don't know why you got such an issue?
