The screenshot was taken with Gimp on a SuSE 9.2 system, in fact on my desktop
i don't have any MSW, though on my laptop i have MSW-XP SP 2, but, it was
pretty difficult to make the keyboard driver work on that, and i could not
install it. Everything is showing OK, but, the conjoining of letters is not
working. And on SuSE it was working on version 9 too, when Sayamindu Dasgupta
first built the OOo 1.9 binaries for me with back-porting some of the
features from OOo2, but, later, after installing the OOo 2 official
installer, as i reported you, all the 'ba' letters and 'r-a' letters became
mangled. And now after this icu.tar.bz2 patch and obviously the tweaked
version of 'ben' provided by Jamil Ahmed in xorg_probhat_fixed.tar.bz2, they
are working fine again. I have made PDFs and sent them to MSW environments
and checked it.

I must report a peculiarity of SuSE here. Though Dasgupta told me that version
2 OOo will not need the $LANG thing, but, on SuSE it does not work properly
without it. So i have made a script that has two lines:

export LANG=bn_IN.UTF-8
setxkbmap -symbols "us(pc105)+ben(probhat)+group(ctrl_shift_toggle)"

I am quite proud of it that six stories written with Unicode OOo Bangla were
already published, though they were re-composed by the printer, they could
not make the two-page page layout from it. And i expect that big thing on
Marxian Value Algebra will go to print quite soon, and exactly in the same
type-face and formatting as i see it on the screen. Planning to make the book
on 22 cm by 27.5 cm page. Even after so many tries, i could not install
Scribus on SuSE, do any of you know any other DTP solution? The basic problem
is quite mundane, for economy, they print two normal size pages on the same
sheet of tracing paper, usually 21 cm by 29.7 cm, that is A4, in mirror, and
then take the tracing-s to print. But, in word-processors like OOo or
MS-Word, this cannot be done. Do you have any suggestion? If you can get any
solution, that will be a big help for small-scale printers in Calcutta.
Mainly due to virus threats, a few of them are quite eager to change over to
some FLOSS alternative. Particularly they were impressed by the ease of
formatting of equations and objects in OOo. But we have to supply them
something that can solve that page-paper-mirror problem. And they all work on
pirated MSW SW, if we can do something, it will be a big help.
