in our country some people are saying that the keyboard layout is copyrighted to him/her... ... how silly.
It's not silly Hasin, Some days back I went to buy a new multimedia keyboard for my daily use. My old one become a bit dirty and that is why I want to have a new one. Can you Imagine what I found? *All* keyboards has printed Bijoy layout on them. I found my old keyboard and this one also has Bijoy Bangla printed on it, but my old one doesn't have any Bangla on it. Some of them are coming with a Bijoy CD. What the hell is that man? Many foreigner can visit our country and may want to use a simple QWERTY keyboard, but I think this time they have to bring one from their own country.
now the question is "can anyone really copyright their keyboard layout"? or they want to mean that their software is copyrighted?
If copyright is a issue, then who gave the right the the China/Taiwan/Korean companies to print this sh*t on their product? What the hell our government is going? Is people bound to use that sh*ty layout?
as far as I know, nobody can copyright keyboard layout. If i am wrong then can you pls tell me what is the annual earning of that guy who invented english keyboard layout??
You made a good point. Can you copyright some rule, like Adam made shirt and if you put the shirt on the top part of your body then you have to give some royalty to Adam till 50 years (I think the maximum copyright time is 50 years)? So I made a rule of typing, which is j = Ka and if you type that way, you have to pay me some royalty. LOL This is a silly country Hasin. We don't even know what our government bodies are doing. May be they are busy with buying their and their family's food and and secure their and their family's future. Nothing more. You just go to hell and no one cares actually. I'm in India now and you may know that iNSCRIPT is the only standard in India for all the Indic languages. But the funny part is, you cannot find one single keyboard with iNSCRIPT printed on them by default. Even they are made in India.
