Subject: [Beowulf] fast compiler question (pathscale/portland
group/gcc)
Rebuilding a code that uses sse2 inlines. Apart from setting up the
appropriate include path for the intrinsic headers, are there any magic
switches I need to set? I had done this a while ago, and now I am
rebuilding someone-elses-code, and trying to remember what I did before.
Most interested in gcc/pathscale.
Hi Joe,
Regarding PathScale Compilers, I have this from one of our compiler engineers:
-----------------------
If the code already uses SSE2 intrinsics, the PathScale compiler does not need
any "magic switches" for SSE2 intrinsics to be enabled. Some applications may
need a configuration switch like --enable-sse for the application to use sse
intrinsics. This is just a configure switch for the application, and not an
option for the compiler.
-----------------------
Cheers,
Tom
