I'm building a "cyclonic" dust collector for my dad's workshop as a
Christmas present. The design I'm following is more or less this one,
http://www.jpthien.com/cy.htm

In looking at the design, I'm guessing the design of the bottom baffle was
done heuristically. It seems interesting to use a CFD model to make a
plot of the steady-state air velocity at the bottom baffle.

The only open-source cfd model I found in a 5 minute google search was
openFOAM - is that a more or less standard solution for an airflow problem
like this?

Any replies would be interesting.
