Hi folks,

For those who don't track Linux kernel development the Lustre
distributed filesystem was merged into the staging tree of the kernel
(where dubious code can be brought in and fixed up to the necessary
standards to go into the standard tree) for what will be the 3.11
release.

Note though that it's configured as CONFIG_BROKEN at the moment as it
breaks builds on various architectures, something there's been a bit of
a commit war over with Greg K-H getting a bit frustrated:

commit 0ad1ea69545b1965be4c93ee03fdc685c6beb23d
Author: Greg Kroah-Hartman <[email protected]>
Date: Mon Jun 24 16:47:45 2013 -0700

Revert "Revert "Revert "staging/lustre: drop CONFIG_BROKEN dependency"""

    This reverts commit ee04fd11f11fb67ff0ae482a6710f97f499c19e2.

How many times can we do this...

Not all the world is x86-64, breaking other arch builds, especially for
weeks at a time, isn't acceptable at all.

So, it's nice to get this code into the tree, just don't build it as
it's obviously not ready for "real world" systems :(
