Edamame – Healthy Food To Meet Nutritional Intake

Edamame is derived from the word eda means branches or twigs.

Mame means bean. So the meaning of the word edamame is a bean that appears on a
twig and is harvested with its branches.

Edamame is a Japanese soybean, in general the shape is bigger than ordinary
soybeans.

Edamame is different from peas, because edamame is like soybeans, but it is
green.

Edamame is not a type of legume plant, but it falls into the category of
vegetables (green soybean vegetable).

Nutrients Contained in Edamame

Edamame contains moderate amounts of vitamins, minerals, fiber, and sterols.
Edamame is a good source of folate.

Folate, along with vitamin B-12, is one of the important compounds for DNA
synthesis and cell division.

Adequate food consumption in folate around conception and during pregnancy will
help prevent neural tube defects in newborns.

Edamame is a good source of B complex vitamins, especially riboflavin,
pyridoxine, thiamin (vitamin B-1), pantothenic acid, and niacin.

Most of these vitamins work as co-enzymes in the metabolism of carbohydrates,
proteins and fats.

Edamame contains moderate levels of vitamin C.

Vitamin-C is a natural antioxidant. Studies show that vitamin C helps prevent
free radical injury, acts as an immune booster, and is an anti-inflammatory
agent.

Furthermore, edamame is indeed one of the ideal mineral sources such as
calcium, iron, copper, manganese, zinc, and magnesium.

How To Enjoy Edamame

Edamame can be enjoyed only by boiling or steaming.

Edamame, which is eaten just like that, is considered more healthy, because the
body can immediately absorb all the nutrients in the edamame.

After all, edamame which is consumed after boiling or steaming makes it not
contaminated by preservatives or other additives.

One other way to enjoy edamame is to process it into edamame milk.

It’s easy enough to make this edamame milk.

The ingredients needed are edamame, water, pandan leaves, and palm sugar.

First, soak edamame. Then blend until smooth, filter with cloth.

After that, boil edamame milk with pandan leaves and palm sugar on low heat
until boiling.

Lift, allow to cool. Edamame milk is ready to drink.

The fact that the content of edamame is very good for health so there is no
need to delay taking this food.

The most important thing is to avoid consuming it excessively because
everything that is excessive is of course not good for health.
