I have a "mini" Berner. Santa (pick of the litter, no less) is very small
(66lbs) and, despite the cow hocks, cute as a button. The majority of
people, who don't know Berners, think he's huge (!) but we do meet those who
say, "Oh, I'd love one if I could be sure he turned out that size..."
Well, sorry to disappoint them, but Santa ain't goin' to be siring other
mini Berners. He has a couple of fundamental bits missing.
What these people fail to realise is, he may be small, but his tail is still
a "weapon of mass destruction", he can still drool for Cornwall and his
personality is HUGE. Oh, and he manages to produce just as much, if not
more, dog hair and any other dog I have ever met. He's fab but breeding
from him wouldn't improve the breed so it was out of the question.
