I e-mailed the person from MA who wrote to the list regarding MA Berners. The post got returned to me as undeliverable. When you get your Berner, you are very fortunate to have a most wonderful veterinarian in your town, Walpole, someone who is VERY familiar with the health problems of the breed and the specialists in the area. Dr. Marks of Norfolk County Veterinary Service (508-668-5088) has been providing exceptional medical care to my Berners for almost twenty years and is an outstanding and compassionate clinician, a superb diagnostician, and a skilled surgeon. He has treated a number of Berners over the years. In fact, it might serve you well to consult with him before you get your Berner because not only has he treated a number of Berners but, I make sure he is up-to-date on all Berner health matters and he studies the literature that I bring to him with great eagerness. I attribute the longevity of my Berners, in part, to the extraordinary medical care which he provides. Lisa Allen
