I microchipped my girl(my only child, my baby) this summer during dog camp. We camp, hike and do lots of activities with our dog and the thought of her lost is unbearable. I did not consider a ear tatoo because all the dogs I have met with tatoos, the tatoo is unreadable after several years. I can tell you after I saw the needle, the process hurt me more than Abby. After the husky began "crying" that went before us (if you know huskies, some of them are very talkative) tears began to flow, from me not Abby. In fact,I had to leave the room because I could not stop. Ok, the good news is when I returned I was informed that my Berner did not make a noise and all went well. In fact, about five of the dogs were chipped togther and there were no ill effects to my knowledge. Except a little embarassment on my part! When my next pup arrives in December, he will also be promptly chipped. I promise not to cry! Trisha and Abby (braver than Mom ever will be around needles)
