That says it all! He's That Age.

You need to put him into a firm, kind, consistent Boot Camp. Ask him to do
something for everything he wants--if he wants to be petted, he must sit
nicely FIRST. If he wants out, having him lie down, sit-stay, shake hands,
whatever. Same thing with meals, treats, etc. You want him working for you,
increasing his desire to please. When he complies, he should be rewarded.
You want him to want to behave nicely. :)

Now is a great time to enroll in a positive methods obedience course. Stay
away from trainers who insist all dogs in the class have a strong
corrections collar like a choker or a prong (although some unruly dogs do
need a wake up call in order to be OK in public, every single dog in the
class should not have this sort of gear required).
