I know we are supposed to avoid "me too" messages, but I have
to send a big "YEAH!!" to Vicky for her comments about good
breeders advertising in the newspaper and/or internet sites.

I know that responsible breeders typically have waiting lists,
and don't "need" the PPOs generated from advertising. But I
also know that Vicky's 100% right on when she says the newspaper
is the first place a great number of people go when looking for
a pup. I strongly believe it's a great way to get to the
"typical PPO," who is well-meaning, but perhaps not educated
on how to best look for a pup.

I think there are tons of educational benefits to advertising,
and I wish more quality breeders would do it. Sure, it means a
lot of extra work right when you're swamped with caring for a
litter and mom. But perhaps it's worth it, in the long run,
for the sake of the breed. But then again, I'm not a breeder
and I have no intent to ever be one, so it's a lot easier said
than done.

Just my two cents,
Julia
