Hello fellow Lers!

I was not able to read Sandy's original post. I guess it was in html and did not show in the digest. However, I saw the following statement in one of the replies:

"In a message dated 11/12/2002 5:51:12 PM Eastern Standard Time,
[EMAIL PROTECTED] writes:
Breeders don't PLAN on scamming their buyers, they don't PLAN on pups becoming ill or dysplasic, they don't PLAN
on "taking the money and running" as some of these message seem to say. "

and I have to disagree with it. Maybe some breeders do scam anybody or intend to scam, but some of them do. Here is my story:

The breeder I was hoping to get a puppy from took my deposit money (about 60% of the price), and then canceled my reservation because I asked about her on the L. (I had my hotel, airline ticket and rental car resevations by then.) She said she would refund the money.

It has been almost 6 months since she canceled, and I have not seen the money. Neither have I heard back from her by email or phone, nor she did accept registered letter I sent her (politely asking for the money but she didn't see it since she didn't accept the letter).

I call this a scam.

P.S. And I think one could call her a "famous" breeder. BMDCA member, too.
