Moses is home from the hospital and has already mastered the "Why aren't you waiting on me" look, should I momentarily attend to another matter. His internal medicine specialist called me late this morning and said that Moses, on his own, was moving about just fine and that he could be discharged. He is wearing a pain patch which I have covered with copious amounts of material and I shall remove the patch on Saturday. Moses continues to take his Piroxicam, Double Strength Cosequin, Moducare (for immune system), Cytotec and Hoxsey Boneset Formula. He will begin chemotherapy at the end of the month with adriamycin and cysplatin (excuse spellings) under the care of his specialists. Chemo is necessary because, even though the primary tumor was removed with the leg, bone cancer is known well to send out microscopic cells to other parts of the body. Moses will have chemo once every three weeks for three to five treatments.
Moses is an inspiration as he moves about, with confidence, on three legs, ate a nice dinner, and then grabbed one of his toys for a good chew.
The care he received at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston is deserving of the highest praise and I am certain that they were every bit as in awe of Moses' determination and spirit as I am, always!
