Jennifer Zaayer stated, "...I have Moritz's blood kit sitting here, and the blood will be drawn and sent in next week. Crombie was also entered into Heidi Parker's study. Please folks, don't forget to get the samples in, if you have a dog who fits (either diagnosed w/mh, or a dog over 10 years), for the love of all our Berners."

Thank you, Jennifer for reminding everyone that we still need to have people enter their dogs into Heidi Parker's study to help find the markers for Malignant Histiocytosis. Heidi needs Berners for this study, who are over 10 years of age and who have never been diagnosed with Malignant Histiocytosis and she also needs Berners of any age, who have been diagnosed with Malignant Histiocytosis. You can learn about Heidi's study and also how to enter your Berner in this vital study by going to this web site: http://www.overthefence.com/raffle/CHF/histio.html

Although the AKC CHF Fundraiser officially ended yesterday, you all KNOW that I will STILL ACCEPT your checks and cheques for this fundraiser to fight Malignant Histiocytosis. In fact, if you send me an e-mail with the amount of the check you are mailing to me and how you would like to have your tickets distributed, I will cover your check for you and put your tickets into the drawing, which will take place on Thanksgiving Day. What better way can you think of to be thankful, than to have contributed to eradicating Malignant Histiocytosis in our Berners? This is a fundraiser in which everyone can participate - it is something that is very important to us and to our Berners. Here is the website for the fundraiser so you can see the two lovely paintings that Willem Wijnberg, from the Netherlands, has made to help fight canine cancer in Berners: http://www.overthefence.com/raffle/CHF/

I promise that you will get a warm, fuzzy feeling when you send in your check and it will give you something to be truly thankful this Thanksgiving and also in the future.

Yesterday Winston practiced pulling his cart in a local Holiday Parade with the Three Rivers' Bernese Mountain Dog Club. We had 18 Berners and 22 members in the parade on a cold, windy day and we all had a wonderful time following the parade at Joyce and Gene Frey's home eating hot chili and watching the Berners romp together in the weather that they love! Let's give all Berners the chance to reach senior status and not lose them to histio. Your donation can and will make that difference!!

Joye Neff and Winston (waiting for those checks to come in HUGE numbers so I need to use my cart to get them)
