Would suggest what we here UK know as Vick's Vapour Rub! You must have equivalent US! Very smelly menthol, eucalyptussy stuff that comes in a small pot, cold cure but out of fashion these days, you rub it on your chest when you have bad cough, stuff it up your nostrils when you have a cold! (Hmm! Yes, you must have equivalent US, it's the stuff that the Cops smear nostrils with when they have to attend an autopsy! See I watch Quincy and read Patricia Cornwell!) No Berner in it's right mind would chew anything with this smeared on it!!
