The subject line was my 30th attempt, and I'm sticking with it!

Barry and Moritz breezed through Bozeman last night, on their way to Denver for a book signing (and pawtographing!). What a delightful pair -- both are very handsome and charming. For those of you in the Denver area, you can meet them in person Wednesday evening (December 4th) at 7:30 at a bookstore named The Tattered Cover (Tattered Page? it's Tattered SOMETHING!) in Cherry Creek.

I can certainly see why Moritz is such a success with therapy work, and Barry's book, Nose to Nose, is an absolute treasure. He describes how he and puppy Moritz came to find each other in Switzerland, his return to Montana, and his early experiences with Moritz as a Delta pet partner team.

I've been doing the same work with Maddie for a year and a half now, struggling to get an official local "club" going (Intermountain Therapy Animals, a Delta affiliate). I'm so proud to say that we are now a very strong ITA club, with over 20 active therapy dog teams. And three weeks ago, we just trained and tested another 17 teams -- my 16-month old Major passed with flying colors, and will be joining Maddie and me in these wonderful activities. Anyone interested in therapy work is more than welcome to contact me privately and I'll be happy to help in whatever way I can. Berners are typically excellent at this very worthwhile and rewarding activity.
