We feed a half and half mixture of Iams Mini-Chunks and Pedigree Mealtime (small kibble, not the large kibble) with 1 can of any of the many assortments of Pedigree canned. The canned is mixed with the kibble, added water, and the whole mess allowed to "swell" while we are out doing chores, cutting wood, etc. It usually stands for about half an hour. Into this mixture can go anything that has not turned into an "experiment" in the fridge, any leftovers from dinner, veggies (tomatoes, broccoli and cantaloupe are huge hits) and twice a week, a large knuckle bone.
Supplements are one 400/500 Glucosamine/Chondroitin tab, one 500 mg Vitamin C and, one 200 IU Vit E. The girls all get a Cranberry tab for urinary health. They are fed once a day, on elevated surfaces. I have had dogs for over 40 years, BMD for 18. I have never had a case of bloat/torsion. I cannot remember the last time I had a skin problem. Altho cancer is *relatively low* in the dogs that have been bred from this kennel, none that have ever lived and died here, died of cancer. This is what works for us.
