In addition to not feeding dogs chocolate, our vet also informed us not to
feed our pup any grapes or raisins. This is a fairly new development, not
something that was taught in vet schools through the years. Recently,
several fatalities of dogs have been reported in the USA after ingesting
these fruits. At this point the vet world is unclear as to whether it's
actually the fruits themselves, an allergy in those particular dogs, or a
spray used on those fruits that's hurting dogs. Until more info becomes
available, she's recommending no grapes or raisins for our canine friends. I
was very surprised, because grapes were listed as a treat in one of our
berner books. Don't know if anyone else has ever heard of this phenomenon.
Does anyone know of any other particular human foods that should be avoided
that you could post?
