Last night I took the dogs out for their final run of the night and run they
did! Sure makes your heart sing to watch my 3 flat out -- the 2 big dogs
are low to the ground flying blurs. Devyn keeps up remarkably well, but
those long ears of his flapping wildly in the breeze just slow him down!
Down to the barn they streak and head back behind the woodpile. I'm
grinning at their athletic display when I hear a weird scream that is
suddenly cut off.

"AERYN DROP IT" I yell. Too late as she comes proudly carrying something in
her mouth, Rowyn & Devyn in hot pursuit. When I catch up to them, they're
all standing in a circle looking down at the prize. Poor rabbit lying there
panting. I pick it up by the scruff and hurry into some light to assess
it's injuries, my audience excitedly following. It's pretty apparent that
the bunny's injuries are terminal (air leaking out of it's chest and
bleeding from the abdomen), so I rush it up to the house to euthanize it.

I sure do love my new fence for keeping the dogs in, I just didn't envision
it would be death to bunnies. Aeryn needs to take up a new hobby.
