After weeks of not enough sleep and being a slave to the ten puppies, the last one leaves today (except the one we are keeping). It is hard to say good-bye to the little ones who have been my life for so many weeks, and I wonder if all breeders cry over the missing puppies. I worked very hard to make certain that each went to a wonderful and caring home, and that helps to ease the sadness of their leaving.
I know that I have said this before, but I want to reiterate how difficult it is to raise a litter well. Sometimes I think that people simply see the cute puppy side of things and imagine it will be fun and easy. Raising a litter is NOT easy and it is very expensive as well as time consuming. If you are like me, the responsibilities of raising and placing puppies takes a significant emotional toll and the sleep deprivation does not help. But perhaps the hardest part is letting them go and trusting that all will be well. So the Kaibab "B" Litter arrived and left, and I am grateful that I had the chance to spend these past nine weeks with those very special sweet puppies. If you meet up with one of them, please give him/her a kiss from me. Mary-Ann Bowman Utah Emma, Abra, Maize and little No Name yet
