These are quite common in young, large breed, dogs. They can be drained or not. Since they frequently refill after draining, I think most people just leave them alone and wait for the fluid to reabsorb. It will help if you can keep your pup from plunking down on hard floors but I know that's not always easy. -Sherri Venditti
