Why > question everyone's motive? Because there are to many pups ending up in bad situations and are bred without regard to health and temperament and that doesn't help the breed. I applaud a breeder who does all the leg work to breed a litter for the right reasons and not just for a buck. As far as I'm concerned they are doing all the hard work. I want a breeder who is very careful, does their research, really knows the breed and is interested in the pup throughout it's life. I think when I buy a pup I'm paying for that legwork, it's no insurance but at least they are doing everything they can. I think most careful breeders would say they don't do all that so just anyone can get one of their pups no questions asked. As far as I'm concerned they have every right to be as careful or as picky as they want. I think if someone doesn't like it then to bad, maybe they need to develop a relationship with a breeder so they understand better why some breeders are the way they are. Maybe they will appreciate the hard work a careful breeder really does. I know I do.
I know their are some snotty dog people (breeders) out there. If you meet one then keep looking. Do your homework too. It works both ways.
