Our Mickey was a from his breeder's "C" litter and since he was brave
and outgoing and friendly (to counteract Shadow's debilitating shyness)
we named him Aquabi Captains Courageous. Hadn't thought much about the
call name until I was driving home with him and at one point I looked
down at him in his little crate and there he was staring back up at me
with one blue eye and one brown eye and I thought, "Mickey."
With that blue eye he was a bit of a misfit, but also scrapple--er--I
mean scrappy and loving -- sort of like a city kid who isn't the most
handsome or well-off but who has charm and personality to spare. Think
Mickey Rooney.

I like the idea of coming up with clever names but I also think that I
need to be with the animal for a while before naming. When I met Jay he
had a cat named Max and one little gray kitty with no name. So I watched
her and finally decided that she was an "Emily."
So now her name is Emily - not that it makes much difference, as someone
else noted, since cats don't really give a s*#t about their names!
