I have the alerts on our BES (4.1.6.10) to send me an email whenever a user is added, deleted, or activated. This morning I am preparing to migrate a user from a Blackjack to a Blackberry.
I added the person to the BES and a minute later received another notification stating that the user had been activated! After checking the server, the status for this user is "Running", there is a PIN, and the last contact date is some time in 2007. This same situation has happened on a few users that I have migrated. It seems that if I remove the user, then add them again the same scenario will not occur again. The company I work for had Nextel Blackberries several years back, but I wouldn't think that after 2-3 years that information would still be present on the blackberry network (let alone automatically activate a device). Any thoughts?
