So after you have decomissioned the old server you just enter its SRP
information into the new server (replacing the evalSRP info)?

Thanks,

I have been able to get eval licenses to migrate or to have a

Subject: [Bes-admins] 5.0 on another server?

We are currently running BES 4.1.6 on a server that also serves
as a RAS/VPN server for myself and about 5 other people. We are in the
middle of a virtulization project, and our systems admin has agreed to
carve out the resources for a dedicated BES VM. Just for background info
we have a current T-support contract on our BES.

What I would like to do is install and configure the new BES
using 5.0 and start to move users from the old (shared) 4.1.6 BES. Is
this possible without purchasing anything else? From what I have read
the SRP auth key would cause a problem because it can only be used on
one active BES at a time. I wasn't sure if RIM has a migration plan for
situations such as this.

My time frame is less than a week from bringing up the new BES
to deactivating the old one.

At this point I just want to see what our options are.

        Thanks,

        - Chris
