I review apps and if they are OK, scan them into bes, and set them as optional.
By default all apps are disallow.

If an app doesn't have an offline installer...too bad. So far a few companies
are helpful in providing offline install files.

The security of our information takes precedence.

We tell this to the people that bring in their own devices and service. We
also have the backing of our company head.

Subject: [Bes-admins] BlackBerry Third Party Application Installation Policy

Hi,

Just wondering how other admins are handling installation of 3rd party
application.
We currently disallow installation of 3rd party applications using IT policy.
This has caused various complaints and request from our user base.

How do you deal with third party applications?

Is there any risk/benefits to the approach?

Regards,
Dzung
