I am writing this from a BlackBerry that I use Google Sync on and it runs just
fine. If you do a battery pull though, you need to make sure to start the
application otherwise it will not sync. The BlackBerry is running on BIS
though.

Hello All,

So an exec asked this of me. He would like to have both home Outlook
items and Work Outlook items on his phone.

- BlackBerry is owned by him.

- Wants his personal email, calendar and contacts to appear on
phone.

- Also wants his work stuff as well.

I've recommended Google Sync, however told him to hold off on this as
I've never personally used this with my gmail account. So my question
is this (two-fold):

Have you used Google Sync to do what is outlined above? Anything to
know about prior to recommending it?

Do you know of a third-party software which will accomplish this that
works better than that of Google Sync?

Thanks in advance...

Why don't you use DM to sync wired and BIS emails? As far as google sync I have
found it buggy at best.

That was my initial thought process, doesn't DM overwrite (or amend) to
the Outlook\Contacts folders? Meaning all his personal stuff will wind
up on the Corporate BES?

Thanks!

Either way they will all end up on the server especially when in a bes
environment

Google Sync will combine the address books as well.
And Google Sync for calendar... nightmare.
Avoid it, for now at least.

Why don't you create another mapi profile for him, and have him choose which
one he wants upon logging in.

I have my president do that, and do that with 2 different domain email
addresses and it works just fine.

Or whatever his home email is to just pop it to the phone?

Either way should work without hitch. The mapi solution will allow you to have
separate in boxes/calendars/contacts/todo list etc.
