If your taking about this BES size itself its footprint is rather small
- and actually should be the same whether you have 1 or 10,000 users. It
just parses information stored in SQL and Exchange. I think my BES
including OS and updates is 11gb, and my vm partition is dynamically
expanding - but hasn't in years. I don't know as far as SQL goes - I
think its around 45 gb now - but that is also in a different local VM
blade environment with iSCSI SAN storage.

That's what is nice about running BES in a VM environment you can add
space when needed.

Doreen,

Are you talking about sizing BES partitions or those required on SQL?

Thanks,
Yury

I am building a new 4.1.6 BES server for an Exchange 2003 environment.
The database will be placed on a SQL server 2005 farm and will not be
local to the machine. Can anyone give me a rule of thumb on how to size
the partitions. Will I need a separate data volume for log files or will
all of those be on the SQL farm. I am trying to size the server for
about 400 European users. Thanks!
