Yeah, that’s all I’ve done for years is go into the common files ..\reasearch in motion\apploader directory and delete the vendor.xml file out. And I still use desktop manager 4.6 with no auto-update. It works like a charm. Any vendors OS will work with any phone of the same model, I’ve been doing it for years (AT&T), I can’t speak for Verizon because I’ve heard of snafu’s that prevent it because of proprietary software? I did load a rogers storm OS build on to a VZW storm though, and it worked fine.
At any rate – 5.0 is great so far, and I’ve never used VVM, but I heard all you have to do is take the VVM.cod files from the 9700 Bold2 install and move them into your 9000 directory and it will present you the option to install VVM for 5.0 on the 9000.
