This worked for my device...I'll have to look further to see if its really "everyone" or just "a bunch of people who complained."

Delete/Undelete all desktop service books (one by one please!). This issue came-up before - one of your service books got corrupted.

I too just upgraded from 4.0.6  to 5,and there’s a whole new world to explore!

I think if the desktop manager is set to control of the synch, then the wireless is disabled.
