Hey all,
I've researched this error and saw that it is generally from used phones that had ties to an old BES server. This phone is new and out of the box from ATT. The message on the phone states: New email address has been specified, wipe handheld data before activating user. See KB 15878 <http://www.besadmin.info/KB15878/New-email-address-has-been-specified,- wipe-handheld-data-before-activating-this-user> for detailed explanation. Now the weird thing, Ive seen this message two times in a week on different handhelds - both brand new out of box. Thoughts? Overview While activating a BlackBerry smartphone over the wireless network, the BlackBerry smartphone user receives the following error: New email address has been specified, wipe handheld <http://www.besadmin.info/KB15878/New-email-address-has-been-specified,- wipe-handheld-data-before-activating-this-user> data before activating this user ________________________________ Cause The BlackBerry smartphone user was previously activated on a different BlackBerry Enterprise Server <http://www.besadmin.info/KB15878/New-email-address-has-been-specified,- wipe-handheld-data-before-activating-this-user> , and a security wipe was not performed on the BlackBerry smartphone before activating it.
