I think* I disabled Calendar wireless sync, used Desktop manager to load all calendar events, then turn wireless sync back on.

In a low-memory situation, the device will dump older calendar events. I believe it will drop any event older than 30 days despite being set to keep forever. I think with an activation it will only load 14 days worth of events.
