FYI, here are some links I used when I first started looking for MDM solutions.
Interesting thing about the first link is that the guy who gathered the information actually works for airwatch (I think that’s right), but his comparison seems pretty unbiased to me and he shows a lot of information as you click through the tabs on the left of the screen. http://www.enterpriseios.com/wiki/Comparison_MDM_Providers The second link is from a guy who did his own investigation and ended up posting comparisons (including pricing). He mentions several vendors (Good, Trellia, Fiberlink MaaS360, Sophos, MobileIron and SOTI.net MobiControl). He doesn’t come across as very complimentary of MobileIron, but it looks like he may be from a smaller shop and pretty much stopped additional research when he saw initial pricing. I don’t think he was thinking past the first year costs or he might have been singing a different tune. There is also a post in this thread that has a link to the Gartner Magic Quadrant for MDM solutions. http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/171483-mobile-device-management-product-comparisons’ Some of the things I noticed that other vendors claim to offer that would be helpful are the Start On Date (think group acquisition here) and End On Date (think employee retirement here). If you could “set it” and “forget it”, that would be handy. Will at least give you an idea of what others are saying, and I think show that there are more folks out there looking. Works extremely well with iOS. The same as everything else we tested for Android. For a free iOS solution, take a look at Apple Configurator.
