My comment in the meeting related to the entropy label is that the indication in the new EVPN Layer 2 attributes extended community is not necessary since the LSP(s) signalling protocols (LDP/RSVP – IGPs/BGP being extended as we speak) are signalling this capability and can be used to know if the egress PE supports entropy label or not. Flow labels on the other hand are required here.
Now is this attribute only used in VPWS or can it be used across other EVPN services. Issue is that flow label is hard to identify in multipoint EVPN services due to the use of SHG labels, etc. As such it is best to rely only on entropy label as a whole for multipoint services in EVPN. My 2 cents on the later.
