Further to Rik's comments

1. For steps in tuning, see section
===== GETTING STARTED WITH BEST CHARTS =====
in the post
http://www.stock-anal.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000684.html

2. I prefer 'highest gain% per trade' to 'total gain%'. See my post in
http://www.stock-anal.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000680.html
for reasons.

6. There are shortcut keys to the menu options, but their use is a
little unfriendly. Press Alt and then the underscored letter to
access a dropdown menu. (Note: sometimes it is necessary to release
the Alt key before pressing the letter don't know why). Then
press
the initial letter of the menu option in the dropdown. If there is
only one option, the option is immediately executed (e.g. press Alt,
S, B to access the Back-testing dialog box); if there are multiple
options starting with the same letter, then pressing this key
repeatedly cycles through all of these options (then press Enter to
activate the highlighted option). Experiment, and all should become
clear. There is one other hot key, Ctrl-N, that will open a new
window. Other standard windows keys like Alt-F4 (close program) and
Ctrl-F6 (next window) perform their usual functions, e.g. you can use
Ctrl-C (copy) and Ctrl-V (paste) to copy stock symbols during
portfolio creation.

7. Indicators that are giving negative profits, or otherwise
unrealistically frequent or unreliable signals, can be excluded from
BBI altogether by giving them a zero value. This weightings facility
is extremely powerful (and I suspect underused) feature. For example,
you could weight indicators according to their profitability, e.g. a
weighting of 10 to an indicator that is constantly returning a 10%+
ave gain per trade, and 5 to an indicator that is returning a 5-10%
gain. Then the indicators that are giving the best profits will
contribute more to BBI, while those that don't are still
considered,
but not to the same extent.
