In the Stocks menu, there is an option something like `Save
analysis
results in results.txt'. If you run this, output is sent to C:\M-
C\results.txt, which is a CSV file that can be loaded directly into
Excel for further analysis.
Re your second question, the simple answer (as far as I am aware) is
no, although you could run a BT on a stock, or better sill, run
Portfolios/Analyze 40 stocks, on a daily basis, to generate an HTML
file (C:\M-C\back-testing.html or C:\M-C\TAsummary.html
respectively), both of which can be loaded directly into Excel.
Alternatively, load results.txt into Excel, where the Buy/Sell
signals are shown in the second column. You could then either (1)
copy the relevant results into a master XLS of your own or (2)
develop a VB macro in Excel to automate the same thing, either of
which would show the patterns across time. In this way, you would
gradually build up a day-by-day Buy/Sell signal list.
In this context, the portfolio approach allows analysis of up to 40
stocks (in BC v 4.33.3) simultaneously.
If you want to do the same across historical data, you would need to
run separate TA's across a historical quote file, which you had
edited accordingly, by repeatedly removing one day's data at a
time
from the file, to reflect the same day-to-day activity. A very
tedious job.
As I said the simple answer (as far as I am aware) is no.
