For historical quotes, I've tried entering a way-into-the-future end date (e.g. 31 Dec 2007), and as far as I can tell, it works correctly, i.e. Yahoo seems to supply whatever data exists between the start and end dates sent in the URL string. Entering a long-time distant end date overcomes the need to change the URL parameters on a regular basis. Please try it and see (in case I have missed something; my testing is far from exhaustive).
